The Spectrum competitive team recently competed in the Level 4-8 New Hampshire State Championships, hosted at Pinkerton Academy. In order to compete at States, gymnasts throughout the state had to earn a 33.0 all-around score at a designated qualifying meet. As a result, the field was filled with the best competitors the state has to offer. From level 8 on, gymnasts have the ability to qualify for the Regional Championships, and both of our level 8 gymnasts, Taylor and Christina, qualified to Level 8 Regionals.
Due to the sheer volume of level 4's in the state, there were 4 sessions of level 4 meets, broken up by age. Marissa had the highest placement for the level 4's, and the highest all-around score of any Spectrum gymnast at any level. She earned a 4th place all-around finish with a 36.725 (and that's with an uncharacteristic fall on beam! Go Marissa!) Our level 4 team placed 11th in the state.
Maeve: 13th vault (9.3, wow!)
Alanna: 13th vault (tied with Maeve with a 9.3), 16th bars
Jill: 21st vault (9.1, not bad coming back from being in a cast!)
Nicole: 22nd vault (9.075), 19th bars
Janiah: 16th vault (9.025), 4th bars (9.2), 15th beam, 12th floor (9.025), 13th AA (35.725)
Reyanna: 10th bars, 8th beam, 14th floor, 15th AA (35.65)
Marissa: 6th vault (9.325), 4th bars (9.375), 8th beam, 4th floor (9.35), 4th AA (36.725)
Reese: 11th vault (9.1), 5th bars (9.2), 9th beam, 10th floor, 10th AA (35.1)
Kaitlyn: 8th vault (9.25), 10th bars, 12th beam, 9th floor, 11th AA
The level 5 meet was broken up into 2 sessions by age. Sophie had the highest all-around score and the second highest of all the SGA competitors with a 36.15 (and that's also with a highly uncharacteristic fall for her on floor!). Our level 5 team placed 8th in the state.
Sophie: 7th vault, 10th bars (9.1), 5th beam (9.575 WOW!), 10th AA (36.15)
Aislinn: 7th vault, 9th bars (9.025), 13th beam (9.0), 10th AA (35.175)
Maddie P: 16th vault, 10th bars (9.0), 17th beam, 16th floor, 18th AA
Lilly T: 15th beam, 17th floor
Aisling: 7th bars (9.05)
By the time we got to level 6, all age divisions were put into one meet. Maddie C had the highest AA for the level 6 team with a score of 33.9, including a personal best vault score! Our level 6 team placed 13th.
Ashley: 13th vault, 17th beam
Maddie C: 7th vault, 13th bars, 8th beam, 14th floor, 12th AA
Teghan: 6th vault, 12th bars, 14th beam, 11th floor, 13th AA
Chloe: 15th vault, 7th bars, 15th beam, 13th floor, 15th AA
Skyler: 6th vault, 10th bars, 7th beam, 11th floor, 10th AA
Kathryn: 10th vault, 11th bars, 11th beam, 12th floor, 11th AA
We had 2 level 7 competitors competing at States this year, which is unfortunately not enough to qualify for a team award!
Julia: 17th vault, 18th bars, 15th beam, 17th floor, 19th AA
Ellie: 14th vault, 8th bars, 20th beam, 10th floor, 17th AA
Both Taylor and Christina qualified to the USAG Region VI Level 8 Championships! They will represent SGA and New Hampshire and compete against the best of the best of level 8 gymnastics from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York. Level 8 Regionals are going to be held on April 27th and 28th in Burlington, Massachusetts (hosted by Brestyan's Gymnastics, home club of 2012 Olympian Aly Raisman and 2008 Olympian Alicia Sacramone!).
Taylor: 4th vault, 9th bars, 9th beam, 7th floor, 10th AA
Christina: 8th vault, 2nd bars, 9th beam, 7th floor, 8th AA
(team parents: if you have any more pictures you want shown here, upload them to the photobucket account! The directions are in last week's email!)
Remember, we're closed next week (April 22-27) for April Vacation! Have a great week!
