This week is our final week before the summer schedule starts and what a year it has been! Our students of all ages have worked hard all year and this week, they get the opportunity to show what they've learned in front of family and friends and earn a trophy for their work!
We kicked off All-Star week last Saturday afternoon with an in-house "meet" for our Pre-Team and Prep-Optional/Xcel groups. These gymnasts performed their routines for our celebrity "judges" (members of the SGA Competitive Team). I served as the resident photojournalist, taking photos of the gymnasts as they compete. Now, I am not a professional photographer in any capacity, but my parents bought me a Canon Rebel and some fancy lenses as a college graduation gift. This was the first time I put my Rebel to the test just to see how it does in sports photography. I ended up with some GREAT shots (over 600 of them)!
Here are just a few of my favorite shots from Saturday's meet
All-Star Week is not the only exciting thing going on in the gym! Our competitive team gymnasts have been training hard to learn new, higher level skills. We have amazing gymnastics at all levels being learned and performed at Spectrum. Take a look at our latest video montage of what some of our girls are training!
Peace, love, and gymnastics,
