Need some gift ideas for the gymnast in your life? Every year we get questions from parents and relatives about gymnastics-related gifts and where to get them. Here are some great ideas for gymnasts of all ages!
We get a lot of parents, particularly around the holidays, that come in and say, "My child loves gymnastics and won't stop doing it around the house! Where can I get a mat so that she/he can practice safely?" or "My child asked for a bar and a balance beam for Christmas and I have no idea where to get one!" I usually recommend Deary's Gymnastics Supply which is a great equipment supply company. They have a "home use" line of small mats, balance beams, and bars designed for small children to practice at home. Check out their gift section for some other great ideas!
I used to love getting a new leotard for Christmas! There's nothing better than showing up to the first practice after Christmas in a shiny, pretty new leotard. GK Elite Sportswear is the industry's leader in practice leotards and have hundreds of different designs to choose from in a variety of sizes. They also We sell a variety of GK Leotards right here at Spectrum! have a toddler line and lines designed by gold medalists Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas. GK also features gymnastics workout apparel for men and boys, and accessories like shorts, headbands, and scrunchies. Leotards won't ship in time? Don't know what size to order? We have several brand new GK leotards and shorts in the office for you to purchase, or to figure out what size to order!
Rainbow Loom charms
The "rainbow loom" bracelets, necklaces, and keychains are a popular trend! Did you know that there are gymnast charms for these kits? Neither did I until I saw them on someone's bracelet! What a great stocking stuffer! They can be purchased online on eBay or Amazon.
"Stick It" is the quintessential gymnastics movie about a former elite gymnast, who abruptly ended her career and turned to petty crime and rebellion. She is forced back into the gym as a method of punishment for vandalism and finds her love and passion again. Stick It is a comedy and a family film, and is full of inside jokes and great gymnastics. This film is rated PG-13 for language, parents beware! Want a more G rated film? "McKenna Shoots for the Stars" is an American Girl film about a young gymnast who overcomes challenges and learns to believe in herself again.
