Last weekend, two of our gymnasts competed in the Level 8 Region VI Championships, hosted by Brestyan's Gymnastics and held at Burlington High School (Burlington, MA). Christina and Taylor qualified to this meet by their performance at the NH State Championships, and competed alongside the best level 8 gymnasts from Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Each state in Region VI chose a different cancer to represent and honor. New Hampshire wore blue for colon cancer and raised money at the NH State Championships for the cause.
In the 14-year-old age division, Taylor placed 13th on vault, 14th on bars, 13th on beam, 11th on floor, and 15th in the all-around. In the 15-year-old age division, Christina placed 18th on vault, 21st on bars, 23rd on beam, 23rd on floor, and 22nd in the all-around.
All of our gymnasts have finished competing for the season with the exception of our Prep-Optionals/Excel's (the program is now called "Excel" but I am so used to calling it Prep-Op that I have a hard time calling it by the new name)! Miss Emily's new prep-op bronze team will have their first competition outside of Spectrum this Sunday at Granite State Gymnastics in Bow. They have worked so hard this year and Miss Emily has done a fabulous job as we grandfather in this new program. We are so pleased with how well this program has done that we are seeking to expand it next year. Stay tuned for more information!
Our prep-op gold and platinum gymnasts will be competing at the New Hampshire Excel State Championships in just a couple weeks! Good luck Kelsey, Heather, Laura, Katelynn, Delaney, and Alli!
