Last week we began a new school year and with all the new faces that walked through the door, we decided to introduce our staff by posting weekly staff profiles. Here at Spectrum, we are a family, and what better way to get to know the members of the family?
This week, our staff profile will feature Spectrum owner, Sean Delisle!
After college, he returned to Londonderry to teach at Spectrum Gymnastics Academy, where he had trained in his youth. He was given the opportunity to purchase the gym, which for him was a dream come true.
Sean currently resides in New Boston, with his wife, Lesley, and their four children.
Years Involved in Gymnastics: 39 (wow!)
Favorite event to do: Pommel horse and parallel bars
Favorite event to watch: high bar (men), uneven bars (women)
Favorite event to coach: pommel horse (men), bars (women)
Favorite thing about gymnastics: Watching people do amazing things with their bodies!
Favorite thing about Spectrum: Our philosophy! “We believe that each child is an incredible person who has the potential to do whatever he or she chooses. Some would say that gymnastics is just a sport, but we say that gymnastics is the foundation for a healthier, happier, more successful life. If children can learn self-respect, discipline, sportsmanship, goal setting, teamwork, gratitude, and the ability to accept defeat and try even harder, they can take these lessons outside the gym and apply them to their goals and dreams. When a child enrolls at Spectrum they are enrolling for more than gymnastics lessons; they are enrolling in life lessons that will build the foundations of success. “
Interesting fact: Sean’s daughter, Julia, is a member of the Spectrum gymnastics level 7 team.
Peace, love, and gymnastics,
